HUNDREDS OF REGIMENTS CLASHED AT THE CHEMIN DES DAMES.
Between 1914 and 1918, more than 1,000 regiments: French, Germans but also British, Americans and Italians may have fought in the Chemin des Dames.
The objective of this part of the Memorial is to bring you some information relating to the unities the combatants who died at the Chemin des Dames belonged to.
It’s not about setting out the detailed historic of each unity during WWI, but about permitting you to understand, as much as possible, in which circumstances each fighter died.
Like the entire Memorial, this part is interactive
Thus, we invite the visitors to suggest us any contribution (regiment extracts, personal researches, photographs, family archives…) that could enrich our documentary database.
These different contributions could be integrated to an on-line index-card, after the Memorial scientific Committee’s validation.
