Lots of commemorative monuments has been erected in the Chemin des Dames since 1920 to pay tribute to the thousands of men fallen in the area during the Great War or to those who fought there.
We wish, sooner or later, to be able to list all collective, individual monuments and commemorative stone tablets affixed in the glory of these combatants, thanks to the war veterans associations, the military institutions, the villages or even the families.
In partnership with the ONAC (French National Organisation of War Veterans) and the Conseil Général de l’Aisne (Regional Council of the Aisne), some of these monuments, most of them erected in the post-war years, were the object of maintenance operations done by the Marine 1st Artillery Regiment based in Couvron.
The virtual Memorial of the Chemin des Dames wants to list all the monuments of the Chemin des Dames and in its close surroundings. If you have any complementary information about these monuments at your disposal, we invite you to pass it on to us : Contact Us
